About Me and My Approach to Change

Twenty years ago I decided what I wanted to be when I grew up. That decision resulted in a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Colorado State University and a license in clinical social work, more commonly known as psychotherapy. In 2000, I opened my private practice as a psychotherapist. As I began putting my traditional Western psychotherapy training into practice,I often found it limiting. My desire to place optimism, possibility, and strengths at the center of my work  led me to explore other paths to emotional wellness and introduced me to many wonderful and varied teachers. My “continuing education” has included

This rich body of knowledge and my experience with it has been instrumental in my approach to change and the creation of  A Good Life Counseling and Coaching.  We are intriguing and amazing creatures and I am fascinated with all aspects of being human – thoughts, feelings, beliefs, behaviors – and how they impact our relationship with self, others, and life. Potential, curiosity, and wholeness are the foundation of my practice; and it is in this environment of openness and possibility that your awareness, acceptance, and skillfulness - your good life – develop and flourish.
